Did I get your attention? We all want to win the game of life, right? But how do we define winning? I know how I define it and that is by being happy. If you can wake up most days with a smile on your face, you are winning at life. Regardless of your station in life right now, we all have reasons to be happy. Winning at life is as simple as that. Be Happy. Yes, there will be bad days, but if you find yourself happy most of the time, you are winning.
Win at Life – Be Thankful
In working with people over the years that are winning at life, I have found that they understand a few core things that help them remain happy. First, people winning at life appreciate everything they have, from the little things to the big. They understand that being alive is a gift and they embrace each day with gratitude. They understand that nothing is promised or guaranteed, so what they have is a gift for which they are grateful. When you approach life this way, it is easy to wake up happy.
Win at Life – Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff
As cliche as that sounds, it is true. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Things are going to happen in life that may throw you off. This is a fact and cannot be avoided. If you let these things affect your happiness, you are fighting a losing battle. Just roll with the punches. Happy people do just that. They do not let little annoyances bring them down or ruin their day. They shake it off, smile, and keep moving forward. It takes practice, but over time you will find that less and less bothers you.
Win at Life – Choose Happiness
In the end, winning at life is a choice. Happiness is a choice. You can wake up tomorrow and be happy or sad, it is your decision. Those that are winning at life understand this simple fact. They wake up each day and decide to be happy. When things go wrong, they decide to stay happy and not let it bring them down. Mindset matters and to win the game of life, you got to have the right one. Adopt a happiness mindset and you will live the life you desire.
Remember, there is no road to happiness, happiness is the road. Choose happiness.
